I like to make paper sacks feel like suede. First I rip them into the shape I want. Then i wad it up into a ball then un-wad (fully open) and re-wad. Followed by hand pressing it flat. Now take a distressing ink pad and smear it over the wrinkles from several different directions - now re-wad it again. Do this for about 3-5 days. Put it into your pocket and sit on it. VOILA - suede like look and feel that can be used in any scrapbook kathi_suede_tip.jpgor card.

Carol says,

carol_westover.jpgMy favorite technique is actually a new one that I've just learned. It's making greeting cards with foil Peel Off's and Pearlized Markers. Picture Perfect has a nice selection of peel offs, and beautiful new designs for Christmas will be arriving soon. The steps for this technique are very simple. MATERIALS: 1 -- 8.5" x 11" sheet cardstock 1 -- 4.25" x 5.5" piece solid color paper, scrapbook paper, designer giftwrap or whatever you want to use for your background. You'll want to select a light colored background that isn't busy, so that when you color in the Peel Off with your pearl pens, the design pops out visually. 1 -- Sheet Foil Peel Off's with designs (flowers, boats, Christmas motifs) 1 -- Sheet Foil Peel Off's with greetings Pearl pens (Sakura or Jelly-Rols) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Create your base greeting card by cutting an 8.5" x 11" sheet of cardstock in half. Fold one half to 4.25" x 5.5". 2. Mount the background piece of paper/cardstock to the center of the 3. Affix the Peel Off to the center of the background paper. 4. Using your pearl pens, color in the design. 5. Affix the selected greeting to the card and you're done.

Her favorite thing to do when scrapbook and making a border is rip paper! After ripping the paper, then I will either ink or chalk the edges or just leave it white!melissatip2_oct08.jpgmelissatip1_oct08.jpg

When Suzanne makes cards or is scrapbooking with plain card stock. She loves to use a Versamark Stamp pad.

Suzanne says, it’s the most handy stamp pad to have around! –And you don’t have to purchase lots of different color to make the same effect. You can just make watermark images to give plain paper a design. Plus it becomes a one-of-a-kind design of your very own. Just take any stamp such as a flower, ink up with Versamark and stamp away all over the card stock as seen below.

Notice on the Snoop

card it looks smoke is coming out of the car.
